The Australian Security Medals Foundation Inc. hosted its inaugural Medals and Charity Gala.

The Australian Security Medals Foundation Inc. (AMSF) hosted its inaugural Medals and Charity Gala at Sydney Town Hall on Saturday 19th February. With some 300 people in attendance the evening recognised the valour and conspicuous service of the very finest operatives within the Australian security industry. Five Valour and three Conspicuous Service Medals were conferred by the Federal Attorney General Robert McClelland.

The Award recipients were:

Australian Security Medal (ASM, for Conspicuous Service)
Mr Jason Brown
Mr Mike Rothery
Mr Toufic Alemeddine

Australian Security Valour Medal (ASVM)
Mr Gary Allibon (posthumously awarded and received by Mrs Monica Allibon)
Ms Ruth Gulbert
Ms Cheryl Griffith
Mr Tarik Khammash
Mr Ben Williams

The event raised over $20,000 for the Foundation's nominated Charity, Legacy NSW.

ASIS International in Australia is proud to support the ASMF in its endeavour to recognise security operatives and to not only further the professionalism and professionalisation of the Australian security industry, but to engage the wider Australian community.
